Even if the sales clerk does not know your name, which most often he does, you can almost count on careful, courteous service. We visited Atlanta over the weekend and surely missed that personal touch. The hotel goofed up the bill, and we had to ask twice before it was cor rected. The waitress at Dante's Down the Hatch gave us the wrong check. When we got the right check, she failed to split the cost between cash and charge as we requested, charging the lull amount and pocketing the cash. On the way home, we stop ped for coffee in a fast food restaurant and received change for a ten when we had given a twenty. C. 28782 Show Jumping Clinic Still Open To Auditors Even though entries have closed for the show jumping clinic to be held at FENCE Nov. 16-17, there are still plenty of spaces for auditors and the Saturday night supper is open to everyone. Ronnie Mutch, two-time US Olympic Show Jumping team member, is the instructor. FENCE and the Blue Ridge Hunter Jumper Association are the sponsors. The price for auditors is $25 a day or $40 for the weekend. Auditors will be allowed in the ring and they will be able to hear everything. Reservations are not necessary. The Saturday night party will be a pot luck supper starting at 7 p.m. Riders' supper tickets are included in their weekend cost, but the price to everyone else is $5. FENCE and the BRHJA will supply the main course and everyone is to bring a dish. Mr. Mutch will be there to give a talk and answer questions. Doreen has written a humorous poem about their unusual experience. Twas a fall day so fine it would make your heart sing, But who could have guessed what this fine day would bring? On this fair afternoon at along about four Bernie happened to look through the livingroom door And called out to Doreen in both shock and surprise, "Come see, I can scarcely believe my own eyes." And neither could I, for alack and alas, Three goats stood there staring at us through the glass! (Continued On Back Page) 12 Pages Today 20e Per ops In Remembrance On Sun., Nov. 10, at 3 p.m. there will be memorial service at the Columbus Presbyterian Church for Hospice patients who have died during the past year. Hospice's Family Care Coordinator Nan Shively has issued invitations to the families of the 38 patients lost. This day will also honor the Hospice people who have had the privi lege of caring for these coura geous individuals. The Reverend Fred Kur- kowski will deliver the media tion. Other clergy participating will be Dr. Claude Broach, Dr. Darryl Maxwell and Dr. Timothy Holland, chaplain for Hospice and pastor of the host church. Volunteers Dr. Stephen Aldrich and Betty Aldrich will serve as ushers. Guest musicians will be vocal soloist Laura Miller and organ ist Mary Ann Kilver.
